die casting

Die Casting is a casting metal, is characterized by forcing the molten metal under high pressure into a mold cavity, which dies in two hardened steel processed. Most of the castings from nonferrous metals, notably zinc, copper, aluminum, magnesium, lead, tin and tin alloys. Depending on the type of casting is a hot or cold machine parts used.

Casting equipment and metal-matrix represent the cost of capital, which tends to limit production at high volume. Manufacture of parts with die-cast is relatively simple, with only four main steps, receiving the lowest cost per point. It is particularly large quantities of small and medium castings, so the casting is suitable product more parts than any other forming process . Cast off by a very good surface (after casting) and coherence dimensions.

Two variants are non-porous cast, the porosity to eliminate defects and gas-injection die casting, which is used with zinc castings to increase yield and reduce scrap.
